MOMENTS
Greetings everyone! I am Claudius, an amateur street photographer based mainly in Miri, Sarawak (Malaysia) who loves to take picture of peoples, their emotions in search of the perfect “decisive moments”. Thank you for visiting my website. This is just an experiment as I wille updating my website from time to time, to reflect my competency level as well as my journey in photography.
As you can see, I love photography. I have been taking pictures ever since I bought my first phone, the long-lost Black Ice phone which has VGA image quality back in 2007. Slowly I upgraded my mobile phone to a better model, starting with Sony Ericsson W890i in 2009, followed by iPhone 4S in 2012. I do have a experience handling Olympus Touch TG-1 and Nikon D7100, but when I upgraded to Leica M9-P, my world just flipped.
The history of my photography life just took a sharp turn in 2015, when I get my M9-P. It is the the best camera that I ever use. Period. I use it not to flaunt the red dot everywhere I go (it has no red dot anyway, which I love), but because I appreciate the image quality that only a CCD sensor Leica can produce. I love the CCD sensor so much that I even get a “monochrom” version of Leica M9, which Leica M Monochrom from Leica Store, Kuala Lumpur. Daniel from Leica Store Malaysia also has been very helpful to me in my Leica photography journey.
Before this, I showcased my photography at my Facebook Page, Claudius Weson Photography and my Instagram, Claudius Weson (@tukangrantekclaudius) , but it does seems to have limitation should I want to express my thoughts and my words. Therefore, I did my own research and realised one thing that never crossed my mind – why don’t I start a blog? Afterall, it would be a good place for me to hone my writing skills and to reach out to wider audiences. I love to socialise peoples of the same interest, which is street photography as well as combining with inspiring other people to achieve their dreams. Instagram, in that regard, is indeed a blessing. I have been receiving direct messages from fellow Instagrammers, sharing their thoughts and opinions on photography as well as to motivate. I am thankful to God for that.
