The Story About Miri Taxi Driver: Lee & Jasmine

Tabi basa & greetings everyone. In this post, I’d like to share the story about a taxi driver couples that has been my favourite ride around Miri for as long as I can remember.

MY EARLY DAYS IN MIRI

During my early days at Miri, whenever I want to get an taxi to go to airport from my house, I will usually call the taxi HQ at Miri. The thing is, they will usually give a random driver to bring me to airport.

There is nothing wrong with that, but being human, we prefers familiarity. The cycle continues – I call the taxi HQ, and they will assign a driver to bring me to airport. It was not until I met this friendly lady taxi driver and her husband; Jasmine and Lee.

A FRIENDLY COUPLE

This is something that is can’t really be described with words, but you can tell when that person is genuinely friendly or not. For both Jasmine and Lee, they are genuinely friendly person and the usually dreaded taxi journey becomes a good chit-chat session.

I still remember the first time I met them almost a decade ago. Even though I just met them, I am at ease. Instead of that awkward silence, the conversation just flows.

Even though there are some e-hailing services, because the rate is almost the same, it is better for me to call them whenever I need to go to airport because at least throughout the journey, I can have a good chit chat session.

If someone prefers a quiet ride too, they can accommodate to your request too and plays TraxxFM instead, or any radio channel of your choice. Or just simply enjoy the silence.

During our conversations, it turns out that there is a lot of mutual friends of mine that uses their taxi services. I am not surprised because they are friendly, approachable and will do their best to assist, especially in a rushed journey to airport.

TAXI SERVICES

In terms of services, they covers anything from Miri, to Niah Cave, to Brunei (Kuala Belait, Seria, Bandar Seri Begawan), Bintulu and even Sibu, if there are requests. They can accommodate from the normal 5-seaters to 7-seaters vehicle.

For information, Bandar Seri Begawan – Miri can take up to 1.5 hours to 2 hours to complete the journey. For Bintulu-Miri, perhaps around 2-2.5 hours.

In case one is interested to book, one can contact them via WhatsApp.

One good thing is that you can always negotiate the price with them.

That’s all I’d like to share about Lee and Jasmine. Just like how they helped me to go from point A to B in a more enjoyable journey throughout these years, I hope they can help & will bring joy in your journey too.

May God bless the two of them and their career.
