Tabi basa & greetings everyone. In this post, I’d like to share about the recent photoshoot I did with Lelian, her daughter Leona and her friends, Agnes & Mabel at Taman Awam, Miri.
PROLOGUE
Taman Awam is a good place to hangout, and to have fun. For kids, Taman Awam actually has a good, simple water park that costs no dime.
For others, it is a good place to do some BBQ because Taman Awam actually has a decent BBQ pit that anyone can use, although it is quite limited in quantity.
Nevertheless, it is a good spot for weekend.
TAMAN AWAM FOR PHOTOSHOOT
For photoshoot, it is a good place because it has sky bridge, tower, shaded area and there is a special place that has yellow leaves. Like Korea, says Lelian albeit warmer Korea.
PRE-GAWAI PHTOSHOOT STORY
Our photoshoot was rather quick, but then it was worth the shot. The main goal of the photoshoot is to capture some Gawai pictures because Lelian said she cannot go back to kampung for Gawai.
For Bidayuhs, Gawai is our exodus. Bidayuhs all over the world will travel back to their village during Gawai.
I personally don’t want to celebrate it elsewhere during Gawai because it has a different vibe. Gawai is the time for Dayaks to get closer to their ancestral roots. For example, at Kpg Pichin, every Gawai, we will have traditional performances.
But to each their own anyway.
THE FINAL RESULT
Below is the final product of the photoshoot.

EPILOGUE
It is always a fun experience to do a photoshoot with traditional attire theme, something that Sarawakians are proud of since we are living in a place full of culture. Even though this is the end of the session, but this is definitely not the last.
Looking forward to the next adventure. Have a good weekend!
Your Tukang Rantek / Rockstar Emcee,
